    Extracting data from one worksheet to another with multiple fields to populate

    Hello,

    I'm looking for some assistance with a spreadsheet I am working on.

    I have a table of data from which I would like to extract the information which is listed horizontally.

    Column A Column B Column C Column D
    Code Name Address Locality

    SMITJOHN John Smith 123 Bell Rd Perth


    On the 2nd worksheet I have a form which I have designed to which I would like to extract the information from the 1st worksheet.

    I am hoping that it is possible to start entering a code based on some reference on the Name. Eg SMITJOHN

    Once the code is true or correct it will populate certain cells on the 2nd worksheet automatically.

    I work in transport and am looking to streamline some of the paperwork and am trying to do it within the means I have available to me.

    The format of the 2nd worksheet is;

    CODE: SMITJOHN
    NAME: John Smith
    ADDRESS: 123 Bell Rd
    LOCALITY: PERTH

    Is this possible if so any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I apologise if I am vague or have not made myself clear but I am not well versed in the language of excel.

    I thought vlookup was the way to go but I am a bit lost on how the formula should go.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    I have attached a copy of my spreadsheet, I should of done that first up!

    What I am looking for is a look up function in the CODE on Sheet 1 to link to a CODE on Sheet 2 and then populate the NAME / ADDRESS / LOCALITY fields on Sheet 1 from the info (database) on Sheet 2.

    Not sure if it is possible, but if it could say predict or auto complete the CODE on Sheet 1 based on the first letters of the code.

    Eg. By typing in ZAM it will bring up all the CODES starting with ZAM?

    If anyone has some advice I would greatly appreciate it!
