Angry Categorizing data based on color, then split into columns?

I have one column of data which I need to split into two. Those values that are bold need to migrate to column B. Have some difficulty in phrasing the question properly.

Original:
A
10
0
0
2
4

Desired output:
A B
0 10
2 0
0 0
2 0
0 4

* note a few formatting issues here:
1. instead of bold and not bold, they are in green or in purple
2. 0 stands for an empty cell in my data set (I tried to fill the empty cells with zeros, but they somehow inherit the colors, i.e. some zeros are green and some zeros are purple; guess that wouldn't be a problem since the desired output they'll all be zeros anyway?)

Any ways to solve this? Help is greatly appreciated! Some messed up data out there need you help!

Do you have a sample that you can upload?

To Attach a File:

1. Click on Go Advanced
2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
3. Click the button.
4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
6. This will open a new window File Upload.
7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
10. Close the window and then click Submit.

Yes - thanks a lot for your help!

In the attached file, column H has values either in purple or green. I want to split those into two columns, so that H is purple and I is green.

Don't know if this would matter or not, but the no. of categories for each company is different on the column D.

Thanks a lot!

I think you forgot to attach the file?

Is there some logic or rule that the different colors are based on?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

It's now attached in the first post

No, there's no logic in the assignment of colors at all. It's two different pieces of info that should have been recorded in different columns to start with.

Thanks again!

Re: Categorizing data based on color, then split into columns?

OK bummer

If there was some locig behind it, I might have been able to construct a formula for you.

Try this though.
Save file!!!
apply filters.
Then filter by 1 of the colors.
Copy what is shown to the next column
Delete what is shown
remove filters
