Conditional Formatting based on multiple conditions

Sorry if this is a repeat, but I have searched for about 2 hours now.

I want names in column B to be colored based on value in column C.
Example Group As will have names in blue, Bs in Red and Cs in green.
    Appreciate any and all assistance.
    With Regards

    A B C
    1 NAME GROUP
    2 JOHN A
    3 JACK B
    4 JILL C
    5 JUDE C
    6 JONE B
    7 JANE A

Re: Conditional Formatting based on multiple conditions

hi Cyberbeing, welcome to the forum. select the range you want to apply to (say from B2:B10)
go to Home -> Conditional Formatting -> New Rule -> Use a formula to determine which cells to format -> Format values where this formula is true:
    =$C2="A"

    format as blue

repeat the steps for the other 2 colours

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.

Re: Conditional Formatting based on multiple conditions

You have 2010 so this is easy.

Highlight the rows you want to format and click on the conditional formatting icon and click New Rule. Select "Use a formula to determine which cells to format"

Then for the formula enter this

Then set the formatting to what you want. You can create two more rules for "B" and "C" for the other formats.
