Use value multiple times before hiding it in a drop-down list

I used this method to hide previously selected values in a drop down menu. I thought by including that value multiple times in my "employee" list, I could use it multiple times before hiding it. Is there any way to skirt this? I need to use each value three times before it disappears. Thanks!
