Question Combining two+ Columns to form one Row label column in Pivot Table

    Hello,

I have multiple sets of data that occur in 2 column increments. The first column is a list of part numbers, the second is their value for that month. I want a pivot table that combines all of the first columns into one master row label of Part numbers and then the values will be listed out in each subsequent column. If a particular month doesn't have a part number in its data, then it should show a zero or blank

Ex with just two months of data:

    A B C D
    Part# Jan Part# Feb
    Part12 13 Part12 13.5
    Part24 14 Part26 17
    Part27 9.45 Part27 9.40
    Part45 17 Part45 17

    A B C
    Part# Jan Feb
    Part12 13 13.5
    Part24 14 -
    Part26 - 17
    Part27 9.45 9.40
    Part45 17 17

All I can get playing around with the pivot table is grouped part numbers. And when the part numbers aren't the same, they get grouped wrong and it throws everything out of whack beneath it.

    Please help

Select a cell in your pivot table.

Press Alt, then D, then P (i.e. in succession; not all at the same time), to call up the Pivot Table Wizard.

Click "<Back" button to go to the first pane.

    Select "Multiple consolidation ranges".

    Click "Next>" button twice.

In the "Range:" box, enter the (1st)Part#-Jan range, then click "Add" button.

In the "Range:" box, enter the (2nd)Part#-Feb range, then click "Add" button.

    Click "Next", then "Finish".

You should be able to figure it out from there.

FWIW, I'm new to Pivot Table usage and I had heard there is a limitation to using this method. You can get more info searching web...

Awesome! However it also consolidated the values which I would prefer separated out. Do you know how?

If not, that's ok. I'm ultimately trying to find average, which is part of the options on that grouping so that's great. I'm a little concerned how it handles zeroes or blanks as I don't want those included in the avg.

I'm no guru, but I do realize you'll have to be more specific and/or provide more details...
