Question Filtering with some blank space

Hi all,

I have data as shown attached.
The problem I face is that I wanted to copy Alex to a new sheet and Zack to another.
How can I do that?

I tried filtering but when I do filtering, only the name is copied but not the details.
How can I copy name, in, out and name of each person nicely into another sheet?

Thank you

Hi and welcome to the forum

Based on how you have your data laid out, short answer is...not easily

Is there a need to have each piece of info for a name, on its own row?
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Thanks for the warmth welcome.
Yes. I wish to copy exactly row 2 to 7 to sheet 1 and row 8 to 13 into sheet 2.

OK but does the data have to be spaced out like that on sheet1?

OK try this, using a helper column. In E2, copied down, use this...
=IF(C2="",E1,C2)
Then filter by name on that column - copy as needed

Re: Filtering with some blank space

I find it somehow laggy when I trying to do a big chunk of data...
I tried to use filter then copy paste... but end up not enough resources...
is there anyway to highlight Alex or Zack and then copy over?
THanks

Re: Filtering with some blank space

I have a large data set. Thousands of name. The one I posted is just an example...
I tried to use filtering out the name then Ctrl + A and copy paste into a new sheet.
It will prompt me an error saying limited resources of things like that.
Is there anyway I can just highlight (not conditional formatting) the all data with Alex/Zack at column E?

If you insist that your data stays in that same format, with all the different rows per name, then Im sorry, if my suggestion in post # 6 slows your file down, then off-hand, I cant think of a way to help you with regular formulas

Re: Filtering with some blank space

Well, I managed to figure out a way to copy and paste into new sheet
Assuming I use a helper column.

Thank you so much
