Conditional Formatting - Highlighting specific cells

I'm having issues with conditional formatting. I used the INDIRECT formula to highlight specific rows.

For example, column A has the days of the week. I wanted the whole row highlighted if it was a Saturday. I used:

    =INDIRECT("a"&Row())="Sat"

What I want to do now is to highlight specific cells (Columns F and G) if column A has Friday in it. I do not want the whole row highlighted if it contains Friday. Can anyone help me?

    Thanks!

    I think a simple
    Formula: copy to clipboard

and applying the same CF to all required ROW is enough..

only if SAT is a general Text.. Not any Date Format using "ddd"..

Re: Conditional Formatting - Highlighting specific cells

Is the data in A text (the word SATURDAY etc) or a date (6/7/2013)?
    1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to
    2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
    3. select new rule, select use formula
    If A is text...
    4. enter =$A1="SATURDAY"
    if A1 is a date...
    4. enter =WEEKDAY($A1,1)=7

For the 2nd part, highlight just those 2 range of cells...
follow the directions above but change to either FRIDAY or =6
