Drop down menu/ filter by colour

Hi everyone,

I need to create a drop down menu (or some form of filtering), that would ideally filter out data by colour across a whole spreadsheet.

For example, the drop down would be a list of names. The sheet would be a calendar. Entries would be coded by colour on the calendar and the colour would ideally be linked with a name on the drop down.

Is that possible?

IF not then if I could create a drop down with just the list of colours?

OR would it be best to create a macro on the sheet, where by I filter across all months for that colour and assign it to a named button?

Hi ljw89,

Since you are using Excel 2010, you should be having "filter by color" option in drop down.. did you checked that ? thanks.
