Need Totals in "child" Tables/Sheets linked into "parent" Table/Sheet.

Say I have a "parent" sheet with several Tables on it and need to create "child" sheets with tables that perform the same calculation function as the "parent". In the "parent" tables, I need the totals of the respective "child" tables. Dependency is inverse from that of life, in that typically a child is dependent on the parent. In this particular aspect, the parent is dependent on the child (sort of like how an octagenerian may be dependent on their children).

    Simplified example attached....

Re: Need Totals in "child" Tables/Sheets linked into "parent" Table/Sheet.

Okay... 58 views and no replies. I take that as not possible automatically (without code).

So let me ask another question...

Say I use a lookup formula on the parent worksheet which queries (not sure if that's the proper word) the mating table on the child worksheet. Is there a way to reference respective child tables not knowing what number is going to be appended to the parent table's name?

Take for instance in the example file, the uppermost table on sheet "MDP1" is named "General". The mating tables on child sheets "1A" and "1B" are named "General10" and "General13", respectively, and the equivalent table on parent sheet "MDP2" (made by copying "MDP1") is "General16". I assume the incerementing suffix by three (3) has to do with the "template" sheet containing three tables overall... because 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, and 18 are appended to the other tables.

In referencing the other tables, I do know that each sheet will be renamed to match the entries in the "Panels" table on sheet "System Setup. That will let me reference the correct sheet. So the problem is specifying the proper table on that sheet. Another aspect is that each table will have a unique-per-sheet base name (such as General on master and General## on copies). I know the MATCH function can use wildcards in its lookup_value argument... but I am uncertain how to put together the proper formula syntax.

If possible, I imagine I'd eventually figure it out, but perhaps some of you more knowledgeable and experienced Excel users can save me from having several headaches during the process
