    Pass And Fail

    Hi Experts,

Can you please help me with my problem regarding Pass and Fail condition
The Criteria or Acceptance region is 98-102 is Passed, Below 98 = Failed
103 Up Failed. Can you please help me figure out the formula.

    The formula Im using is

    =IF(A1<98,"Failed",IF(A1>98,"Passed",IF(A1>=103,"Failed")))

But I dont have any luck.

    Thank you.

    Re: Pass And Fail

    Try tis one (untested)

    =if(or(a1<98,a1>103),"Failed","Passed")
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

    Re: Pass And Fail

I tried this... IF(And(A1>97,A3<103),"Passed","Failed") and it worked for me.

    thong,

    The following formula:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
returns PASSED if A1 = 98-102, failed for all other values, and blank/nothing if A1 is empty.

    Hope this helps.
    Brendan.

    Re: Pass And Fail

Good point well made by BB1972. All three previous solutions work also but when the cell is blank Excel will treat this as 0 and therefore "Failed" will be visible in your formula cell unless you approach this along the lines of BB1972.
