Saving a picture for background after making changes.

I want to change an existing picture to use as a background. The original picture is too dark and I have copied it into my sheet and using the picture tools have greyed it out to make it more suitable for a background, however I have not figured out how to save it in its current format to be able to apply it as a background.

Any ideas?

why not copy it to paint or some picture editing tools then you can save it as jpeg or any format you want.

copy-paste special has option there to save the picture as jpeg,gig, etc. but just within excel.
