    Hidden my personal xls now I cannot see any cells when I open Excel

    I had some personal macros in personal xls. I have hidden this workbook because I didnt want it to open everytime I opened Excel. Now when I open Excel i have no cells visible? stumped

    Personal is normally hidden, and it always opens (hidden) (if it's in the proper directory) each time you start Excel. That's the behavior everyone (or almost everyone, apparently) wants.

    To unhide, it, View tab > Windows group, Unhide ...

    Yes I understand that, I had some macros which I was using across different workbooks and was using the personalxls to execute them. Now I have hidden the personalxls the cells seem to have vanished. When I open Excel the first workbook has the words Excel at the top rather than Book1. My only solution at the moment is to presss CTRL N. This opens excel in a new book1. I'm stumped as to why this has happened. I only hid my personalxls after unhide it a few weeks ago

    Try unhiding your Personal workbook, sharing it and then hiding it again.
