    Splitting Columns and Column Width

Here is my example for my first concern ... if the width of column A is 10, but I want to split that column below Row 20 into 5 and 5, can this be done? Or would I just have to set column A and B to 5 each and then merge them together from Rows 1 to 20? I have a feeling that is the only way to do this but can someone tell me if I am correct?

My second question is ... Is it possible to have a spreadsheet column auto fit the contents as I type in the data? Now, I always go to my command of "Auto Fit Column Width" after I enter my data but it obviously would be easier to set the spreadsheet to automatically widen the column as data is entered. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    You can't split a column.
What you say will work, but I personally would not use merged cells, better to use formatting to get the effect you are looking for.

The second part will need VBa
