    Advanced Formatting Help

I have a spreadsheet with names and dates. Many of the names are exact duplicates but with different dates in the adjacent cell. Is there any ways to organize the spreadsheet so that dates are listed in order from oldest to newest, BUT any duplicate names are kept next to one another?

    Thanks

Ensure you describe your problem clearly, I have little time available to solve these problems and do not appreciate numerous changes to them.

Doing this just sorts names alphabetically if they share the same date, it doesn't keep duplicate names next to one another. Or is there a way to sort using using both at the same time?

Perhaps you could use a PivotTable with the Date then the Name in the Row Labels area.

If you have Names in column A and Dates in column B, then mark column A and B. Then sort first on column B Ascending and second by column A Ascending.

Then you will have Dates in column B from the oldest to the newest and duplicate names next to one another in column A on the same dates.
