Conditional Sorting

I am relatively new to excel and I am trying to group a column according to certain conditions. Below is a sample column, and I want to separate them by first the letters, and second by the numbers. So here is a example column:


3203-EM
3203-LC
3205-EM
3205-HO
3205-LC
3206-EM Deck
3206-HO Deck
3206-LC Deck
3207-EM
3207-LC


And I would like for it to look like:

3203-EM
3205-EM
3206-EM Deck
3207-EM
3203-LC
3205-LC
3206-LC Deck
3207-LC
3205-HO
3206-HO Deck



I tried the sort feature, but that did not seem to work. Any suggestions or formulas that might do the trick?

Use a helper column

=RIGHT(A1,LEN(A1)-2)&LEFT(A1,4)

and sort on that.

What are you sorting on? The result that you show, isn't in numeric order nor is it in alphabetic order according to the letter codes.
