    Conditional Formatting on Due Date

    I am doing a color coded training chart
    I have annual training and over 150 employees to track.
    i would like to know how can i make dates that will be due soon (w/n 30 days) yellow and training that is current green.

    IE - I completed training 4/13/2013 i will be current until 4/14/2014 so that should be green, however i did training 9/30/2012 and that i coming due within 30 days on 9/30/2013 this should be yellow

    I have been able to accomplish the due/pastdue. Can someone help me, i have attached a sample. It includes what i have been able to accomplish?

    Thanks

    Re: Conditional Formatting on Due Date

    Hi and welcome to the forum

    If you will be having a lot of CF, I would suggest that for a start, you put =today() in a cell on its own somewhere and then reference it when you need to. Reason being, =today() is 1 of those functions that recalc with every workbook change (volatile), so that any time you enter anything anywhere, it will recalc and may slow your file down. CF will already start doing that on it's own if you are applying to a large enough range.

    OK on to your question. I would think that the great majority of your cells with be green, and only a few will be yellow or red? So instead of having a rule to turn the cells green, why not just make ALL cells green with regular formatting, , and then have the 1's that are "out of spec" to change color?

    Try this for the yellow rule (I put =today() in B1)...
    =$B$1-30<=B4
