Hello Everyone, I went through the forum and I cannot find an answer for my issue. I find pieces but I am unable to link them together. I am creating a form for users to submit to IT. I need to create two dropdowns that are dependent on each other. I'm not an excel expert so I ask you to please bear with me.
The values for the first drop down which is called the application role are:
Super Admin
Business/Product Admin
BRClient Manager
CSR/Helpdesk
Developer (view only)
For the second dropdown which is called the line of business the only available value should be N/A except for when Business/Product Admin is selected. If Business/Product Admin is selected then the following values apply:
BBDC – Bank and Broker Dealer Clients
DCSS – Defined Contribution Self Service Clients
TAIC – Transfer Agency Issuer Client
401K – Non Bank and Broker Clients
I need the users to be able to select more than one the options above.
Basically I need the second drop down (line of business) to force a selection if Business/product admin is selected. Also if you select the Business/Product Admin and then make a line of business(s) selection but then change the Application Role to another selection the line of business selections has to clear since all the other application roles have N/A and no other values.
I tried doing this with data validation which works well when creating dependent drop downs but the multiselect option is not there. I tried adding a code but it doesn't work. I also created a drop down using a active x combo box and ended up putting check boxes for the lines of business but they are not happy with that since it doesn't force a selection. Can someone please help me figure this out?
Btw I'm using excel 2010 but I need users in 2007 to be able to access the form as well.
