Conditional Formatting cells in a column based on adjacent cells value

    Good day to all,
I have a spreadsheet that updates automatically. On the spreadsheet there is column C which contains job numbers. When a worker logs on to the job his employee # (E1234) appears in the cell adjacent to the job# in column D.
I need the cell in column C (job#)to change color just when cell D contains an employee#. In other words only the jobs being worked on should be colored.
I can make this work on a cell to cell basis with { =NOT(ISBLANK($D1))} but that does not work when applied to the whole column because some cells in column D will always have an employee #.
    Any help would be apprecieated!

    Thanks Slide1

because some cells in column D will always have an employee #.

I need all cells in column C to be highlighted if there is an employee number in column D. Example...C1,C8,C15 is highlighted if D1,D8,D15 has employee number.

Thanks dilipandey..that worked well after I adjusted the starting cell to D2 instead of D1. D1 was a table heading...duh!
