Hi, I have a question on cross-referencing 2 spreadsheets.
I have one document with a list of names, where "Mr. and Mrs." are combined, for example:
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Clark
Mr. and Mrs. John Smith
etc.
the 2nd document contains the same names, along with other, extra entries, and is formatted with the "Mr." and "Mrs." separate, like so:
Mr. Larry Clark
Mrs. Larry Clark
Mr. John Smith
Mrs. John Smith
Mr. Steve Doe
Mrs. Steve Doe
i need to end up with the names in the format of the 2nd list, with the Mr. separate from the Mrs., but without all the extra names, i.e. without the Doe's.
Is there any way i can have excel reference the first list, and if there is a last name that does not appear there, to delete, or otherwise filter, those names on the 2nd list?
