Copy With Intervals Paste With No Intervals.

My problem is the data I want to copy is in 2 cell intervals. But I want to copy them side by side.

In the link it is explained what I am trying to do.

OK as I understand from you, there would be many people on the forum who can not download excel samples (virus?).

So I took a screenshot copy of my excel file in jpg format. Here it is:

    Hi,

If you just want to copy the numbers, try this.

    Copy the range (a8:m8)

    Click on an empty cell.

Paste--->Paste special -->click add button in operation -->click ok

This will paste only the numbers with two empty column in between. Again copy this result. Select an empty cell.

    Now press f5-->special -->select constants.

This will highlight only the numbers. Now just ctrl+c and ctrl+v.

You should have the desired result

Re: Copy With Intervals Paste With No Intervals.

Thanks!.... .That's what I really wanted!... That made my job really easy!.... It eases my job to paste the parts I typed so far.

And as another request - is there any function that will automate it? As new cells are added - the new cells are copied to other part. Because to give an example in the sample I provided - in example I will continue as 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (example numbers) by time and I would like the are to be pasted automatically as I write numbers on the copied part.

Yes it can be done in multiple ways Usually, i prefer helper column/row & extract the desire results.

See if the attached file works. Of course, you have to change the range per your need

Thanks Elayaz for the help. I tried the formula with a range in another sheet in the same worksheet. But I guess both ranges need to be in the same sheet/column?

Select A8:M8. Hit F5, Special, Constants, Select only numbers from the list. Click OK. Copy. Select empty cell and Paste.

It should work on any worksheet. Name the data range and helper row. Please see that attached sheet. Hope it works.

Well Elayaz - I was unable to replicate your sheet formula on mine - however that was what I was trying to do. Thanks anyway. I already gave you reputation -

Not sure, where it's going wrong in your sheet

Your row where the numbers are should be named.. The helper row should be named.

Then replace the named ranges in the formula. It should work.

If possible, can you upload your sheet with just the row where you got the numbers (deleting all the other sensitive data), so that we can sort it out.

Well Elayaz - I was unable to apply, even by giving names to rows and even on the same sheet.

Here is the sample (sensitive data removed) worksheet I would like to have the interval paste to be implemented. The excel file is self explanatory as I wrote what I wanted in detail. If I am unclear in any part - just ask me. Thx for the help

Re: Copy With Intervals Paste With No Intervals.

    Hello,

See if the file helps. Few things here to be noted.

I have named two rows in the sheet "current" - HelperRow(row2)& SpentRow( row3)
Also I have added two helper rows, hide if you want.

Also I suspect the date pattern is going wrong from cell "DI1" - 8/16/2014. There is no date 08/16/2014 in "Long Term Budget" sheet.

Take a look and see if this sorts your issue. Else please come back here

Re: Copy With Intervals Paste With No Intervals.

Hi Elayaz. After a long time of trial and error I was unable to replicate yours in my worksheet - even after copying and pasting your exact rows to my original worksheet.

And at last, I attempted the vice-versa, and copied my normal cells in the original worksheet to your formula created worksheet, and they worked fine. And I renamed the original sheets as a backup and copied your sheets with the same name to my worksheet. And now everything is perfect. I guess you have some cells I did not realized that affected the formulas. But it's OK now.

And thanks for notifying the wrong date pattern - I corrected it too.....

As I look at these formulas, I see how less I know about this Excel thing!...

    Thanks again,
