Start typing in cell set up

I have previously found a page where it showed how to set up so that when you start typing in a cell that it will search/rank/count etc. the results eg.

I start typing in cell "AP" and it will search a list on another page and show all options that have "AP" in it eg. apple apricot...

can some one help?

Here is one suggestion using a combo box. [lpratt=type ahead using combo box.xlsx] But that's not a cell, so I'm not sure it's what you want. It's fairly quick and easy to implement.

Here is another description using Data Validation but I wasn't able to get this to work using 2010.

Edit: I just noticed you have 2003, if you do not have the compatibility pack let me know and I can post a different version.
