Hi all,
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I have worked with dates stored as text many times but for some reason this I can't beat this one. In the attached example, I am trying to convert the dates stored at text to a date, and then use weeknum formula to get the week number. Can you help? I've tried datevalue annd left,mid,right to extract the days months and years and then put them back together with date formula but it hasn't worked. I'm using mac excel 2011.

=SUBSTITUTE(A2," 2012",", 2012")+0

Your problem might be with extra spaces in your data
Either trim your data, or use this to get your dates
