Change cell colour based on text being present - conditional formatting?

    Hi all,

Apologies if this question has already been asked, but I've searched high and low and can't find an answer (perhaps I've been using the incorrect terms, I'm not sure).

    I have dependant dropdown lists in 4 cells in 4 columns, F13 G13 H13 I13

I want to be able to change those cells' colours to green when the user chooses a value for the final cell (I13).

My knowledge of conditional formatting is pretty terrible; I've played around with a few bits and pieces but to no avail.

    Can anyone help me?

    Hi

Please post an example excel sheet with mock up data ( if data is sensitive) and the desired result.

To attach a file, click go advanced button (below) and click the paper clip icon (attachments)..

    Hi Elayz,

I've attached a mock-up spread sheet like you requested.

Selecting a option in F13 brings up a message for the user to choose the next dropdown list, as does the next one etc. Once the user has made 4 selections (i.e. there's text in cell F13 G13 H13 and I13, I'd like those cells to change colour to green.

Just realised there's another thing you might be able to help me with; selecting 'Business Plan' then 'Outline of' should bring up 4 different choices in H13 but instead only brings up the one. This may happen to others but I haven't had the time to check. Also, there's always a blank option under every 'Question number' and 'Tender'. . do you know how I could fix these issues too?

Thank you Elayaz! The conditional formatting worked perfectly The missing choices thing is fixed too, perfect in fact, would you be able to tell me what you did in case I have similar problems with different spread sheets in the future?

Also, the problem with blank options is still there, is this something that can be fixed?

Is it Dynamic lists I need in order for there to be no blanks in the dropdown list? Could you help with this also?

Absolutely spot on! Thanks so much for all your help !!! I've marked this thread as Solved now, however if you'd be able to reply with what exactly the range fixes were that you just made, then I would really appreciate it
