Problems with Linking Cells on a Score Keeping system

    Hi all,

I'm currently putting a score keeping workbook together for a sporting event that we are hosting.

Competitors are playing in 3 different event types; Singles, Doubles and 4 person Team. In addition each competitor will have an 'All-Event' total to crown the overall best player over the event.

Competitors will be playing 5 games in each event type above, 15 games total which give their all-event score.

I intend on having 4 worksheets, 'scoresheets', for each event being played - Singles, Doubles, Team, All-Events

What I want to do is link the cell with the total scores of each player obtained in their Singles, Doubles and Team events to the All-Events worksheet so that their All-Events scores are automatically entered.

If I do the basic link cell function, when the results are sorted in decreasing value to give the winners in each section, the linked cells are then not in direct relationship with the player who actually obtained that score...in case I'm making that sound confusing here is an example of what's happening at the moment...

    Prior to sorting...
Position Player Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 Total
    1 Player A 100 100 50 250 (Cell linked to Player A's All-Events scoresheet)
    2 Player B 150 100 100 350 (Cell linked to Player B's All-Events scoresheet)

    After sorting...
Position Player Game 1 Game 2 Game 3 Total
    1 Player B 150 100 100 350 (Cell linked to Player A's All-Events scoresheet)
    2 Player A 100 100 50 250 (Cell linked to Player B's All-Events scoresheet)

Therefore when sorted Player A and B are given the wrong total for their All-Events score for that event.

Is there a way to insert the totals for each player from each event played to their All-Event scoresheet that will look for the players name on the Singles, Doubles and Team scoresheets to input the correct results for that player?

Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.
