    Lookup a table to see if data exist?

    How do I lookup a table , eg. E4:G16 to see if that table contains a data.

    I tried {=search(A4,E4:G16)} where A4 is in cell F10 but returns Value error.

    If you only need to check if esixt.. why not Countif..
