1. highlight the range you want to apply the conditional formatting to (D1)
2. on the home tab, styles, select CF
3. select new rule, select use formula
4. enter =C1="N" format fill grey
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Re: IF columns with Conditional Formatting

It didn't quite work out like I thought.

If column C says "N" then column D should highlight

I have 1100 lines total. Column C has "Y" or "N" in it. Column D has a part# Just need the part # to highlight if there is a "N" next to it.

What I have now is random things being highlighted so I must have done something wrong?

Thanks,
Amanda

Ah! Got it. I put a range in the formula you gave me C1:C1200.

Works perfectly!

Thanks FDibbins!
