activex listbox doesn't work on workbook open (can't make selection)

Okay, I don't know if this should be in excel forum or VBA forum. So sorry, if I chose wrong.

My activeX listbox is inactive until I select a check box(unrelated checkbox) or enter and exit design mode.
Then all is good. Not sure what to do to get this to work on workbook open.

My code for the listbox is pretty irrelevant except to say that it is in a module. Additionally, My code works great and is populated from a list of cells.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Richard. I am sorry. I forgot I posted this. I have gone an entirely different route with a USERFORM. As such, how should I mark this thread so it doesn't waste peoples time looking at it?
