    Search Database Excel

    Hi there,
I'm an amateur excel user, and not familiar with the VBA and macros. Currently, I have a task from work that I need to create a userform with one listbox, when activate, it links to a combobox option, finally a text box to fill in the description to lookup . And of course, the last one would be a command button to command for search data from a database. I have been trying with different VBA codes and still stuck for almost 2 weeks. The problem is that when I select listbox 1 as filter 1, duplicates values appear, then select one of them linked to combox 2 as filter 2 also have duplicates values. I have no idea how to solve this. Please help me to find the easiest way to nail this task.

You can find the sample I've attached to see what I mean. Simply, I need 3 filters, 1 for supply plant, 1 for shipto and one for product type and a search button to search for the rest of criteria.

    Many thanks

    Re: Search Database Excel

    Hi
It is not really clear what you are after. You can use the built in Data Filters for "Ship To", "Product Type" and "Supply Plant". Once you have done that what is it you want to search for?

    form.jpg

So, this is the form I design as a input to search for the other info in the database.
    Inputs will be:

    1. Product type/ Key filter
    2. Supplying plant/additional filter 1
    3. Shipto/additional filter 2

and for those inputs I want to avoid duplicates in the combo boxes and I totally have no idea about it.

For the result textbox, I have seen that it's possible to display all other related information according to the filters in Access, but excel I have no clue. In case if that doesn't work, I think I have to insert a few more textbox to display all other results starting from Column E:M.

So, it would be nice if you can show me an example since I'm learning from seeing. Thanks a lot Tony.

    Hi
I still think you are over complicating your solution. Access and Excel are two completely different applications. Just by using simple filters you will achieve what you need as advised above.
