How to create a Production/Supply ordering schedule in Excel?

    Hello All

I am trying to make a supply ordering schedule which:

Tracks how supplies (bags, etc.) we have on a particular time
How much of these supplies we use at a particular time
Schedule a time to order the new supplies so we do not run out of the supplies at all.

    Thank you All

How often would you order new supplies (daily, weekly, monthly)?
would you manually put in how much supplies you use, or would you come up with an estimate, and want it applied over an appropriate time frame?
Please click the * icon below if I have helped.

    Some things to consider:

I had to do this kind of thing by "hand" and one of the tricky things was figuring out Order Points. That is, the level of stock on hand that triggers a new order. Will the stock on hand be sufficient to last until the new order arrives? You need to have a cushion here in case of late deliveries. Does the supplier give discounts based on quantity and/or orders of multiple items? Are your ordering times "as needed" or on a schedule?

Order supplies as needed. Weekly to monthly.

I would manually put in the amount of supplies I use.

I need to know how to create a spreadsheet to know when to order the supplies ahead of time so I do not run out of supplies.

    Thank you

This very small file might give you some ideas to start with. It has transactions much like a bank book with "withdrawals" and "deposits". The names of the various inventory items and their order points are on a separate worksheet.
