Export Excel Table in .prn (Space delimited text) with Unicode Format

    Hi all

I've a big unsolved problem: I would like to convert an Excel table with some laboratory data in it (descriptions as text, numbers, variables with some greek letters, ...). The output should be a formatted text with a clear structure. A very good solution is given by the converter in Excel "Save As" .prn File. All works fine, the formattation is perfect (it does not matter if some parts are cutted because are too long), but unfortunately the greek letters are converted into "?"!!!
I've tried to convert my .xlsx File in .txt File with formatting Unicode and the greek letters are still there! But in this case the format is not good, the structure of a table is gone!

Do you know how to save an Excel file in .prn but with Unicode formatting instead of ANSI?

Thanks a lot to everyone that can help me!

Could you upload a small sample file?

    Of course!

here the original Excel table (only a part of it):
    MyFile.xlsx

This is the results with "Save As: .prn":
    Capture.GIF
It will be good, only problem are greek letters that are not displayed!

And this is with "Save As: .txt Unicode":
    MyFile.txt
Good, but with no formattation! Unreadible table :-(

    Could you help me?
    Thanks

Having teste different setups I'm sorry to say I've not managet to solve your problem. I've also tested using "OpenOffice" to see if it containd a "better" file saving option but have not found any.

I've also tested printing the file using "Microsoft XPS Document Writer" since Microsoft claims that xps files can be read by software since I assume you need the prn formate to transfer data.

The XML Paper Specification (XPS) provides users and developers with a robust, open and trustworthy format for electronic paper. The XML Paper Specification describes electronic paper in a way that can be read by hardware, read by software, and read by people. XPS documents print better, can be shared easier, are more secure and can be archived with confidence.
I can't uploaded the XPS file as this is not a valid file formate for uploading in this forum so you will have to print the xlsx file xps if you wish to test this option.

    Thanks again for your help!
I know that it seems a simply task, but I better know that is very hard to solve this problem :-)
Hope that maybe someone else could find out some solutions...
    Have a nice day
