    Choosing the highest entry

    Hi Guys,

I have a spreadsheet with thousands of image names, which contains the product code. I have managed to combine the image names into one row, but am sitting with up to 20 rows of image names per product due to the process used.

I need to only use the line with the most amount of image names per product, indicated by the highest number per product in Helper 3.

In other words use the highest number per product in Helper 3 and extract that corresponding information out of Helper 4.

I hope this makes sense. Attached is a sample with the highlighted information I need to extract.

    Hi Martin,

For some reason the formula doesn't work if I copy it down to the other rows?

    Re: Choosing the highest entry

A minor amendment to the formula will allow you to extend the formula. Note $e$21 and $f$21 in the original formula:

If you need to go past 2000 change accordingly.

Once I add all the image names in the column called Filename, Helper 4 and Helper 6 don't want to copy down to the rest of the column past the sample.

Would I also need to make the same changes in another Helper column for it to work. Helper column 4 is giving me some headaches!

    Re: Choosing the highest entry

Enter this formula (same small change) into column E in E2 and copy as far as you like (it will cease to function at row 2000)

    Formula: copy to clipboard
