Is there a way to toggle off the tool that auto-capitalizes the first letter of a word after typing in a cell and going to a different cell?
I am using Office 2003 if it matters, but I do have 2007 if I were to need it.
Thank you,

Go to Excel Options, Proofing, AutoCorrect and deselect the options for Capitalization

Thank you so much!
Even though I uncheck the "Capitalize first letter of sentences" option, in Tools/Options/Spelling/Auto Correct Options, the first letter does indeed capitalize. What am I missing here? I am speaking here of Office 2003. In 2007 I am unable to find the optioin at all because of the entirely different GUI.

In Excel 2007, if I remember correctly, click on the Orb in the upper left, click on Excel Options, Proofing, AutoCorrect Options and there is possibly another selection called Capitalize Names of Days.
There is also another possibility that the words being capitalized are in the scroll list of terms to correct and maybe even in your Custom Dictionary.
In Excel 2003, I believe that those settings are under TOOLS, OPTIONS, PROOFING or SPELLING.
Does this behaviour occur in other Office programs?
If you have a custom dictionary installed, that also could be causing problems.
It is also possible that the Proofing Tools have become corrupted somehow. A removal of the proofing tools, a reboot then the addition of the proofing tools in MS Office might solve the problem.
