Filtering the data

Please help me in formula related to data filter. In attached sheet if i apply filter on "DOCK" then "a8" also come with result "DOCK", means filtered item name should appear in cell "a8".

Hi,

Row 8 in your table is not part of your dataset, but for subtotalling.

If you do not wish to have this as part of your table, go to Table Tools/Design and uncheck the Total Row box.

Actually i need the this row for further calculation based on filtered text. If we can't get the required result in A8, this will be ok to get the result in any other cell.

I don't understand. You want to filter in this table but not have the subtotal row appear when you filter?

But you nevertheless want the subtotal row to be present if you don't filter?
