Working out 'Break Even'.

I need a formula to work out the following.

If I buy a certain amount of items at a certain price I need the 'Total Cost'.
That bit is obviously very easy to do.

However, here is the bit I’m struggling with.
I now need a formula to work out ‘how many items I need to sell’ at a ‘certain price’ in order to break even with that ‘Total Cost’.
The selling price being able to be changed to view the number needed to be sold to break even.

I would suggest your formula should be Item Cost X Number Purchased / Selling Price. This will give you the number you need to sell to break even.

Thanks Tony, it's all so simple really, why didn't I think of that!! I now have a nice little spread sheet where, as you change the 'Selling Price' it automatically tells me how many I need to sell be 'Break Even' and also how many 'Per Show'. These items are 'Fibre Optic Wand' toys to be sold at our Pantomine in January.
