Changing the right window in a split window based on clicking on hyperlink in the left win

I have also posted this question in this forum:

    http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/excel-q...ml#post3571063

I got this question from a friend of mine.

In my workbook I have the first sheet (main sheet) containing the names of all my students with hyperlinks to individual student sheets. The following sheets are the individual sheets for each student.

In my working window I want to see both my main sheet at the left side of the screen and the student sheet that I have chosen on the right side of the screen as a split window.

If I click on a hyperlink (student name sheet) in my main sheet I want the right window in my split window show that student sheet.

    Is this possible to achieve?

She cannot find anything on internet about this.

I’ll hope there is a guru somewhere on this forum that can find a solution for her.

1 open workbook with links to other sheets
2 tools new window (view tab/new window in 2007) so say your workbook is called students.xls
it will be shown as students.:1 and a new window called students:2 will open
position students:2 to the left and students:1 to the right
now a hyperlink clicked in students:2 will activate the correct sheet in students:1 (if you do it the other way around it will just jump in the same work book)
it should look something like this
note hyper links are best done using =hyperlink() in this format
    =HYPERLINK("#sheet2!a1","link to sheet 2")
