Create a list of items

Hi there, i'm looking for an alternative way of creating a list of unique items from a specific column.

Say for instance i have in column B a list of fruits

Apple
Orange
Apple
Grape
Banana
Orange
Pear
Strawberry
Apple
Apple
Grape
Banana
Orange
Pear
Strawberry
etc etc

I know i can create a unique list using a pivot table in column C - but is there a better (quicker, less memory using) way to do this with code?

For instance the list would return 9(n column C)

Apple
Banana
Grape
Orange
Pear
Strawberry
