    Red face Tabulating a Range of Values

    Hello,

    I'm only good with sum functions and so, I was wondering how I would get Excel to give me the amount of values within a certain range. So basically, let's say I have a series of books that sold various amounts. Which functions would I use to give me that data?

    Example:

    Book A - 2000 (copies)
    Book B - 500
    Book C - 1500
    Book D - 3000
    Book E - 450
    Book F - 200
    (etc...)

    How would I construct a formula that would give me the number of books sold between 100 - 500 copies, 500 - 1000 copies and anything over 1000? Any and all help is most appreciated

    Re: Tabulating a Range of Values

    MurasakiK, Good evening.

    Suppose your qty of books is at B column.

    a) 100...-...500....<Formula> = 3
    b) 501...-.1.000....<Formula> = 1
    c) .......>.1.000....<Formula> = 3

    Formulas:
    a) =SUMPRODUCT((B1:B6>=100)*(B1:B6<= 500))
    b) =SUMPRODUCT((B1:B6> 500)*(B1:B6<=1000))
    c) =SUMPRODUCT((B1:B6>1000)* 1)

    Is it what you desire?
