    Entering GPS coordinates into Excel 2003

    Hello,

    All summer I was camping and have tons of GPS coordinates that I would like to itemize using Excel.

    Ideally, I would like to produce a spreadsheet like that which uses example 2 in the attached example. Here I would simply enter the coordinates in raw form and then excel adds the "°" and other like ".".

    If thats too hard to do then I guess degrees, seconds and minutes can be added in own fields but it looks ugly.

    Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks!GPS.xls

    My personal preference, and I expect it is going to be less popular than others, is to go into my GPS, change the display setting to decimal degrees, then input my latitude/longitude coordinates as decimal degrees. This makes data entry into the spreadsheet much easier.

    Suomalainen, Good afternoon.

    Why not to try this: At C9 --> FORMAT CELL --> PERSONALIZED --> 00"° "00"' "00

    Then you just type your data and the result appears.

    This result meets your need?

    I hope it help you.
