    Complicated data extraction problem

    Hello,

I am having a difficult time trying to extract data from only certain cells in a worksheet. The problems are that the data consists of both letters and numbers, there are both filled and blank spaces between each of the hundreds of cells I need data from, and the number of spaces in between each cell isn't always regular. It is mostly regular, but when I tried recording a macro to copy and paste this data, it didn't use the correct cell locations upon running the macro. This also makes writing a formula for it difficult, as I can't say it's always going to be 5 spaces in between.

It doesn't really matter if the data is moved to a new sheet, or to blank cells, and it doesn't matter if the data is copied/pasted or replaced.
It also doesn't matter if the solution is a formula or a macro.

*I placed this thread here because it could be either formula or macro-based, so I wasn't sure which way to go. Hopefully I don't upset anyone*

I would very much appreciate any help given.

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

You can use TRIM to remove any excess spaces, but it would be better all round if you could post a sample workbook which shows some of the variations in data that you have and explains what you want to do with that data (e.g. with a before and after sheet).
