I am not able to remove SCROLL LOCK on my MacBook Pro. Everyone says an F14 key is required, but MacBook Pros don't have one. Any ideas?

Thank you Martin. The "Basics" article shows fn+shift+f12 should toggle "Scroll Lock" on and off. Don't know why, but hitting these keys does nothing.

See if it helps to delete the Excel preferences file:
Quit Excel
Go to UserName:Library:Preferences*
Delete the file: com.microsoft.Excel.plist
In OS X 10.7/10.8 the user Library folder is Hidden. If you aren't familiar with accessing it see:
