Arrow How to enter data conditionally ?

    Hello all,

    Good morning,

I have Sheet1 where I have all expenses/payments, say Fuel, Food, Stores etc.

I have other sheets named i.e. Labor, Food, Stores, Domestic, Health etc.

The moment I enter some payment to hospital and select option1 (drop-down data validation), it should go to Health sheet and sit there. If I enter some payment to Fuel and select option2 (drop-down data validation), it should go to Fuel sheet and sit there. Till some extent I have it done good. But If I edit the options selected in the main sheet, concerned changes are not happening in the relevant sheets. The data behaves static, not changing. I used index/match, v-lookup, look-up functions, but in vain, its not working. Please help. Here is my sample workbook link.

Please look at the attached sheet. Do you want it to work like this?
Let me know if it works for you.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    1. I can see some date repetitions even if there is no transaction.
    2. If you edit the transaction by changing the amount or account it is not reflecting properly.
    3. Amount repeating twice for same transaction in Petrol account try this yourself.

One of the problem is: Transactions are repeated twice in the Food account, thrice in the stores account.

I tried even the ISBLANK function well, but in vain it's not getting refreshed.

What may the reason for this??

    Thank you.

Your post does not comply with Rule 8 of our Forum RULES. Do not crosspost your question on multiple forums without including links here to the other threads on other forums.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. The last thing you want to do is waste people's time working on an issue you have already resolved elsewhere. We prefer that you not cross-post at all, but if you do (and it's unlikely to go unnoticed), you MUST provide a link (copy the url from the address bar in your browser) to the cross-post.

Expect cross-posted questions without a link to be closed and a message will be posted by the moderator explaining why. We are here to help so help us to help you!

Read this to understand why we ask you to do this, and then please edit your first post to include links to any and all cross-posts in any other forums (not just this site).

I entered some entries in the sheet to check the macro to see if its working as per your requirement. The macro has nothing to do with the data present in the sheets. It only works when you select a drop down value in column 1 and it activates the sheet name belonging to that drop down value. That's what you requested in your original post.
You delete all the data from the sheet and enter the fresh data to check if its working as per your requirement.

Moreover please take into consideration what Pepe Le Mokko has stated in his post regarding cross posting your questions in multiple forums.

Considering the data input errors what you are getting, I have made the correction in the sheet. Please take care of formatting of cells as per your requirement.

I have also added a blank row in the vlookup array table, so that you have one option to select blank to check if the data is behaving properly. Moreover this blank row will help you in case you select a value from drop-down list in a row to check if it navigates to the correct sheet without inputting the data in that row.

    Hope it helps you.

    Thanks.

    Hi Sktneer,

When you edit any entry in the Main sheet it is i.e. just do this to get error. 1) First you put an expense in Stores and later if you change it to Postage. 2)Add a new entry it is throwing duplicates for some reason.

    thank you
