Smile Sort a text list adding a count in the bottom of eatch group.

    Hello everyone

I know you're all busy so i'll keep it as brief as possible, I have a challenge that i haven't been able to solve for a while besides doing it manually which i'm estimating would take a year at least. I've searched the net and this forum and came up empty. So what i'd like to do put all the make and models into a group with a total at the bottom and them sort them with the highest performer to the lowest performer

    I.E from this:

    Toyota Corolla
    Toyota Corolla
    Toyota Corolla
    Toyota Corolla
    Toyota Camry
    Toyota Camry
    Toyota Camry
    Toyota Camry
    Toyota Camry
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra

    To:
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Holden Astra
    Total 7

    Toyota Camry
    Toyota Camry
    Toyota Camry
    Toyota Camry
    Toyota Camry
    Total 5

    Toyota Corolla
    Toyota Corolla
    Toyota Corolla
    Toyota Corolla
    Total 4

    Is this possible?

Also is there a way to sort and place into a new sheet from this
    Screen Shot 2013-10-08 at 9.08.54 PM.jpg
Which has been ordered by year, then in the second column by month i.e 2 = February

and placed into a new sheet that looks like this

    Screen Shot 2013-10-08 at 9.07.48 PM.jpg
Where you can see all the January or "1" have been put together from the years of 2008 to 2013 and placed side by side for comparison.

Then the above formula to group all the makes and models and have a tally should be added to have the top performers at the top.

Thank you so much everyone I really appreciate your help, I hope to hear from you all soon as I'll be using this for a uni assignment and my lecturer is stumped.

    Thanks again.

Re: A challenge for all the pro's :)

Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

A Pivot table summarizes data very well. Here is an example.
