    Track Changes

Okay so I am trying to find a way to make Track Changes work without the file being on a network.

I have a file that I work on and save on my PC that is sent to my superiors to review. They have been known to tinker and where I have a formula they type in a hard number which really messes up the entire workbook.

Is there a way to save my file. Email to them and have them work on it save it and send back to me and I can see the changes they made?

So far when I do it it only shows my changes and not the changes made when emailed and saved by someone else.

    Re: Track Changes

If you keep a copy of what you distribute (and I am sure you do), a very small macro could be written to compare sheet-by-sheet, cell-by-cell what you gave out against what you got back.

    Re: Track Changes

How are you enabling changes to be tracked? I am surprised this is not working for you if you have Shared the workbook (even though it is not on a network drive), though I have only done this a couple of times.

Another option that fits this situation better is to protect the worksheets and lock cells containing formulas, leaving unlocked only the ones you want to allow them to change. However, because it is your superiors, this may not be politically desirable.

I have written macros like what Jakobshavn suggests so if you like that option best come back for help!
