    Making time equal money

    Hi

Was wondering if anyone could help me convert time into money using Excel.

I have a spreadsheet which is calculating the difference between 2 time values but I then wanted to calculate the monetary value per minute of the difference and havent been able to figure out how to make it work.

I am guessing that it has something to do with the formatting of the cells but am stumped now - any suggestions greatly received.

    multiply the time result by 24 so 00:15-00:10 =00:05 then x 24
so 5 mins becomes 0.166667 hrs you can then multiply that by anything
    format cell number or general

If you have start time in A1, end time in B1 and amount per minute in C1 this formula gives the total in D1

    =MOD(B1-A1,1)*1440*C1

    format D1 as currency

    Talking Thanks

    Hi guys

Thanks to both of you for replying so quickly, much appreciated.

I used the formula that daddylonglegs submitted and it worked a treat - now I can get on with this spreadsheet.

Once again thanks a million and I will be back next time I have an Excel problem.

Cell A1 is Formatted as Time.
Cell B1 is Formatted as Currency

    I worked 10 Hours(Cell A1)... I want PKR 322.6 as Answer (Cell B1)
