    Gridlines not showing on default

I have exhausted myself looking online before I came here and have come up short.

When I create a new workbook my gridlines are off and I have select to turn them back on everytime. Has anyone had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?

    Thank you very much.

Just in case anyone ever stumbles upon this going forward. Found this online:

"Open a blank workbook and turn off the gridlines. Choose File|Save As and in the Save as type dropdown choose Template (*.xlt). Name the workbook Book.xlt and save it in the Xlstart folder."
