Lost Spreadsheet

Hi,

I was working in a spreadsheet that was saved to my desktop. I saved the spreadsheet (which I did after each new entry) and then clicked exit. I restarted my computer and when I did the spreadsheet was gone. It was no longer on the desktop. When I searched for it - it showed up but when I opened it all of my work was gone. It looked like it did when I initially saved it to the desktop. There are no previous versions of it found either. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where to proceed from here. It's several hours worth of work so I would hate to have to restart.

Do you see the file listed in the "previously used" list when you click File | Open ? (Sorry, I can't remember the exact name of the list in XL2003). If so, click on that to open the file - you may have accidentally saved it with a different name than the one you are searching for.

Unfortunately it's not there under a different name either. I was sent the spreadsheet and I downloaded it and saved it to my desktop. Iworked in it from there and saved it after each new entry. Once I restarted the computer it was no longer on the desktop. I searched for it and found the file but all the information I've input and saved isn't there. It's like it reverted back to the original save and I can't get the info back.
