Re: Indexing complete data sets for a entered value

It's not at all clear to me what you're trying to do. Maybe this:

Select ALZ3:ALZ22. In the formula bar, paste

    =INDEX($A$3:$ALL$22, 0, MATCH(ALZ1, $A$1:$ALL$1, 0))

Press and hold the Ctrl and Shift keys, then press Enter.

    Copy right.

Re: Indexing complete data sets for a entered value

Lets assume that there is no data in the colored boxes and I enter 107 in to D1...the yellow set and I would need the complete set for 017 071 107 170 701 710 to come up in the Yellow. You follow? Thank you for your reply and I will try what you said.

    Thank you.

No, I don't, sorry. I don't understand the significance of the colors, what cells are for data entry, what cells are calculated results, and what the results should be based on the data entry.

Re: Indexing complete data sets for a entered value

The first value would be entered in to D1 which in this case is 107....I don't need to calculate anything....just indexing the data sets for 017 071 107 170 701 710. Photo 2.PNG

The colors are just to break up the sets for the 6 values entered....no it would be understood better.

Lets assume that there are no values in D1 thru D6...and I want the sets for 107 to come up in the Yellow...instead of scrolling to the left to locate the sets for 107...I would like to enter 107 in to D1 and have the sets for 107 to come up in to the Yellow....I really can not explain any more. Thank you for your help.

    Why not?

    Cut (AMA38:AMA45)
    (AMF38:AMF45) paste

    Copy (ALZ1:AME1)
    (AMF 1:AMK1) Paste Special; Formulas

    Cut (AMF38:AMF45)
    (AMA38:AMA45) Paste

Can I do it with keeping the data entry box intact? I need to be able to paste the 6 values in to it in one shot....I think this is where it gets complicated.

If I cut AMA38 to AMA45 I will lose part of the Yellow set. How do I do that?
