Excel stops working

Using Office 2013. Two days ago Excel began stopping to work every time I scroll, whether with the mouse or using slide bars on bottom or side of worksheet. This was before an automatic programming update for Windows 8 ran on my laptop. No other Office program appears to be affected. Have tried correcting through "change" both rapid and full processes.

I don't have Excel 2013 or Windows 8 and have never experienced this error, so everything I am recommending is just based on past experiences with other similar problems. Have you run ALL updates? Have you completely exited Excel and then reopened it? Have you tried restarting/shutting down your computer then restarting it?
