    Angles and Pitch--Irradiance Values

    length
    1 2 3 4 5 6

    W 1 23 32 49 21 87 56
    i 2 12 13 34 98 78 34
    d 3 38 35 18 23 12 65
    t 4 12 45 9 32 2 1
    h 5 29 12 11 54 10 9

I'd like to enter 2 values, one for length, and one for width, and be given the value.

    Please don't laugh at me.

    My best regards......

Sorry that didn't come out at all well. Let me try again.

I have a reference table with 'Angle' on the x axis and 'Pitch' on the y axis. The table represents irradiance values.

I would simply like to input the angle and the pitch and get the irradiance.

    I hope you can help...

Perhaps this example will help you. It returns the intersection of the Width row with the Length Column.

You are a very very nice man.

    Perfect. Many thanks.

Now I hit a new problem. The values are different for different parts of the country. I have 20 tables named zone 1 to zone 20. Is there an easy way of selecting a zone at the same time as choosing angle and pitch? Feel free to tell me where to go.

what is the actual layout and are the tables all the same size?
Attach a sample workbook. Make sure there is just enough data to make it clear what is needed. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are demonstrated, mock them up manually if needed. Remember to desensitize the data.

here is a sample of what you could do so table size is irrelevent just make sure the named ranges (and youd need to create 20 of them) incorporates all the cells
change zone value with drop-down in b1
    its easy to name ranges
just select the range say b7:h12 and type the name in the name box(the bit above column a and press enter)

    Irradiance factors.xls

Assuming this has attached you can see the spreadsheet in its entirety.

I would like to choose a zone, orientation and roof angle and get the result.

    Fingers crossed.....

since all the sheets are identical ranges its slightly easier to use the sheet names

    Re: Angles and Pitch--Irradiance Values

I will need to get my hands on the panel data for the next stage. That won't be until the morning. Sorry if that's a let down!!! If either of you would like to pick the thread up tomorrow I would be inordinately grateful. Otherwise I remain in your debt.
