Organogram Excel relations

Hey there,


I would like to create a simple organogram. I can’t use the SmartArts in Word because they don’t offer the flexibility I need for this organizational chart.

So I started this project in Excel by integrating simple text zones. But unfortunately I cannot handle it well.

E.g. I cannot find any arrows for emphasizing the relation between different people. Making the border lines of the cells bigger does not seem to be a solution because I cannot adapt them properly and every time I move one of these lines, the whole text zones with the people names are also moving (because in reality, I am moving Excel cells and not just lines or arrows).

Also I would like to put groups of people in “boxes” in order to underline their function (see e.g. “équipe de production” or “support” in the screen shot).

I attached my attempt and the old organogram(the screen shot) so that you can visualize the problem.


If you have any ideas how to resolve these problems, I would be quite happy!

I didn't want to use the Smart arts because I could not manage to put the "arrows" in the right position, neither couldn't I change their coulor. And also it was not possible to have severals name beneath another row of names who are part of the same level of hierarchy (because I couldn't remove these lines), like in a sort of box.

And I unfortunately I don't have Visio.
